Accreditation requirements for member schools

Registered non-government schools that are accredited must meet curriculum requirements that are additional to the requirements for registration.

Accreditation for Years 7 to 10 enables a school to enter candidates for the School Certificate. Accreditation for Years 11 to 12 enables a school to enter candidates for the Higher School Certificate.

The Act makes provision for requirments for the School Certificate and the Higher School Certificate to be prescribed by Regulations and developed by the Board of Studies. These requirements are outlined in the Board of Studies Assessment, Certification and Examination (ACE) Manual.

The maximum period for which accreditation may be renewed is five (5) years.
