Role of the Office of the Board of Studies in relation to systems of non-government schools
The Office of the Board of Studies administers the non-government school registration and accreditation program under delegation from the Board of Studies.
For systems of non-government schools, the registration and accreditation process for member schools involves monitoring the compliance of member schools by personnel of the approved registration system authority. The role of the Board of Studies is to provide advice to the Minister on:
- an application to form a system of non-government schools
- the manner in which an approved authority for a registration system monitors compliance of member schools with the requirements for registration of schools under Part 3 of the Act and, if appropriate, for accreditation under Part 8 of the Act
- the exercising of any of the Minister's functions in relation to systems of non-government schools.
